Here are some of the most common questions I’m asked…
1. How can I find info about your books and upcoming releases?
Well, this is a great place to start, although I am also on Twitter, Facebook, and GoodReads.
I update my Facebook and Twitter pages daily, so those are the best places to look.
2. Do you listen to music when you write? If so, what kinds?
Of course!!! I love music, and I enjoy all kinds. Although, I admit country is my least favorite. Some of my go-to artists during the writing process are: Drake, Beyonce, Jhene Aiko, Kelly Clarkson, Frank Ocean, Maroon 5, and many, many others. As you can see my taste is pretty eclectic, and I’m open to any suggestions. Just shoot me an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or any other platform. I love getting music suggestions.
3. What’s your writing process like?
I wish I had a definitive answer, but truthfully I don’t because the process varies. Sometimes I sit in front of the computer and write for more than 24 hours – showers and meals be damned. Lol. Other times, I write and then I have to step away for a few minutes, days, weeks, or months.
4. What made you decide to start writing?
I never decided to start writing, I just always have. I’ve always wanted to write. Although, I started writing poetry. It was after I discovered I was no good at it that I started crafting short stories, and those short stories led to novels.
5. Why self-publishing? Why not the traditional route??
Truthfully, I wanted to go the traditional route, but I know that once a person signs with a publishing house, they usually sacrifice their ability to control their releases. Although I admit, I hope to one day sign with a publishing house. Every serious author wants to see their books in a store one day, and signing helps get that done.
6. What types of jobs did you hold before you started writing?
Oh so many! Housecleaner, Airport Customer Service Agent, Shoe Store Associate, Waitress, Nursing…you name it, I’ve done it. I originally went to college to become a pharmacist, but then finally decided to major in business and accounting. Never ever gotten into that career field though because I decided that the only thing I want to do is write. Nothing else is fulfilling for me.
7. I loved Jake and Jules so much? Is there anymore to their story?
Oh, heck yes! First of all, you guys didn’t get a chance to hear Jake’s side of things so his book is coming soon. But it’s not a simple rehash of the first story. I mean yes, he meets Jules and they fall in love, but his story is entirely different from hers. He had his own issues to overcome, and you’ll get to hear him tell you all about it when No Time Like Now releases this summer (<—-yes, that is an official announcement!!!).
8. What else are you working on?
I have a standalone NA contemporary I’m working on, that will also release this summer. Soundless, another NA contemporary will release this fall. I’m planning on releasing material consistently throughout the year. Perhaps another Jake and Jules story??? Idk…we’ll just have to wait and see…
